Emerald Belles Take Top Prize at Nationals

The Emerald Belles were named National Champions at the MA National Drill Team Competition this past weekend at the Fort Worth Convention Center. They won 1st place overall in their division which earned them their title along with National Championship jackets. The Belles won 1st place in High Kick, 1st place Lyrical, and 2nd place in Jazz.

The Belle officers won the highest awards at the competition. They were awarded 1st place in all three of their dances and 1st place overall. They were also awarded National Champions and will receive rings.

In the Solo category out of over 480 entries, four of the Belles placed in the finals. In the 11/12 division Lacey Munoz won 2nd place and Anna Grace Pruitt 5th place. In the 9/10 division Jessica Bowman was awarded 8th place and Claire Berutti 9th place. In the Duet category Peyton Faltys and Claire Berutti won 3rd place.

Jessica Stephenson, Brooke Davis, Samantha Koszarek, Cayla Contardi, Abby Keyes,
Berkley McFarlin, Tatum Wallace, Morgan Wilson, Aspen Reid, Emily Collins, Christina Wettig, Sophia Parrish, Tiffany Springer, and Ryleigh Malloy entered as a  Large Ensemble and won 1st place overall and named National Champions in the category.

This is the first time for the Belles to go to a national competition and I'm so proud of their accomplishments.

The Emerald Belles competed at Texas State University in the ShowMaker State competition. The Belles placed 1st in high kick, 1st in jazz, and 1st in lyrical. They were awarded Overall Entertainment, Creative Costuming, Judge's Award, and  Outstanding Choreography, Showmanship, Technique, and Precision in all three dances. They also were named in Line of Champions of the contest and 2nd place overall in division.

The officers competed and were awarded 1st place in their jazz, lyrical, and contemporary routines. They received creative costuming for their lyrical, Judge's award, Outstanding Choreography, Showmanship, and Technique in all three dances and Outstanding Precision in contemporary. They also were named in Line of Champions of the contest and 2nd place overall in division.

Several of the Belles competed in the solo category and the following Belles made it to the finals at the end of the night. In the 11th/12th solo division Jessica Bowman won 1st place, Laurel Kavanagh 2nd place, and Sophia Parrish 5th place. In the 9th/10th division Kelly Alspaw won 2nd place and Tess Williams 3rd place.  Belles named as a semi-finalist were Claire McCoy, Claire Berutti, Sarah Scheffler, Catherine Brannon, Bella Cox, Ashley Greene, Erica Bradford, Erica Darrah, Bethany Sauls, Molly McKinnon, and Kathryn Larkin.

In the large ensemble division the following Belles entered a high kick routine and won first place. The group included Haylee Spriggs, Elizabeth Meyer, Kristen Gentry, Emma Joy, Natalie Seitz, Morgan Kay, Riley Anderson, Taylor Thibodeau, Allison Kinnamore, Rachel Broadway, Madisyn Daniel, Ashleigh Christmann, Catherine Brannon, Meghan McCoy, Bethany Sauls, Ashley Greene, Kelly Alspaw, and Molly Mckinnon. In the duet category Peyton Faltys and Claire Berutti won 1st place overall.

Emerald Belles at the 2016 ShowMakers Drill Team Competition!

Crowdpleasers Drill Team Competition - February 20th, 2016


The Emerald Belles competed at the CrowdPleaser competition at Fossil Ridge and were awarded 1st place overall in their division. The Belles received 1st place in jazz, 2nd place in high kick, and 1st place in lyrical. They were awarded the highest scoring dance of the day for their jazz routine. In addition, they won Outstanding Technique, Outstanding Precision, Outstanding Choreography, and Runner-Up with highest scores overall.

The officers were awarded 1st place overall in their division and 1st place with highest scores overall of competition. Their jazz, lyrical, and contemporary routines all received 1st place. They also won "Crowd Pleaser" award for jazz and Outstanding Technique, Precision, and Choreography.
Three of the Belle officers made the solo finals and competed that night. In the 12th grade solo finals, Laurel Kavanagh won 1st place and Jessica Bowman 2nd place. In the 11th grade solo finals, Claire McCoy won 3rd place. In the 9/10 solo finals Kelly Alspaw won 2nd place and Molly McKinnon won 3rd place. 
The following Belles were named as a semi-finalists in the 11/12 division: Ashley Estridge 6th place, Sara Scheffler 5th & 7th place, Madisyn Daniel 8th place, and Claire Berutti 9th place. In the 9/10 division Josette Chang 9th place, Ashley Greene 7th place, and Tess Williams 6th place.

Claire Berutti and Peyton Faltys competed in the duet category and were awarded 1st place.
